{"id":12776,"date":"2014-06-05T11:24:27","date_gmt":"2014-06-05T18:24:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theculturednerd.com\/?p=12776"},"modified":"2014-06-05T11:24:27","modified_gmt":"2014-06-05T18:24:27","slug":"xbox-one-controllers-now-usable-on-pc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/?p=12776","title":{"rendered":"Xbox One Controllers Now Usable on PC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/theculturednerd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Xbox-One-contoller.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-12777 \" src=\"http:\/\/theculturednerd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Xbox-One-contoller-1024x582.jpg\" alt=\"Xbox-One-contoller\" width=\"583\" height=\"331\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/theculturednerd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/major_nelson_xbox_one_controller_pc.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/a>This morning, <a href=\"http:\/\/majornelson.com\/2014\/06\/05\/pc-drivers-for-the-xbox-one-controller-available-now\/\">Xbox&#8217;s Larry &#8220;Major Nelson&#8221; Hryb announced<\/a> that Microsoft had made drivers available that will allow the Xbox One controllers to finally work with the PC, which has been able to use the 360 controller for years already.<\/p>\n<p>All \u00a0you have to do is go to <a href=\"http:\/\/majornelson.com\/2014\/06\/05\/pc-drivers-for-the-xbox-one-controller-available-now\/\">this page<\/a>, click on the corresponding driver download link (for 32 bit or 64 bit operating systems), run the program, then connect\u00a0your controller with a micro USB cable and play. \u00a0When I tried it, it installed in about 10 seconds, and the controller was detected as soon as I plugged it in and is working great.<\/p>\n<p>Major Nelson had this to say:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We know our fans have wanted PC compatibility, and we know they wanted to be able to use the Xbox One controller with the same games and applications they have been playing with using the Xbox 360 controller. We can\u2019t wait for them to play their favorite PC games with what we consider the best controller ever made and we\u2019re excited for fans to experience the improved D-pad, redesigned battery compartment, new comfortable design and offset analog sticks. The new PC drivers will enable the Xbox One controller to be used with any game that featured gamepad support for the Xbox 360 controller.
