First Edgar Wright leaves, and now two of its <a href=\"http:\/\/theculturednerd.com\/2014\/05\/3-more-names-added-to-the-ant-man-directors-shortlist\/\">front runners<\/a>, Adam McKay and Rawson Marshall Thurber, both pass on the project.<\/p>\n<p>At first it seemed like Adam McKay would be the strongest applicant to take on the directors gig, with some sites even began reporting that he took on the role, that was until he took to twitter and revealed that he had passed on the role.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\"><p>And yes, met w\/Marvel. Kirby &amp; Lee r my Lennon Mccartney so it was awesome. But have other projects I&#8217;m committed to. Not sure it can work.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Adam McKay (@GhostPanther) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GhostPanther\/statuses\/472823583236845568\">May 31, 2014<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" async=\"\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>With McKay out, it left only 3 other rumored names in the mix. Those being Rawson Marshall Thurber, Ruben Fleischer, and<a href=\"http:\/\/theculturednerd.com\/2014\/05\/marvel-is-reportedly-looking-at-louis-desposito-to-direct-ant-man\/\"> Louis D\u2019Esposito<\/a>. But now it seems Rawson Marshall Thurber has dropped out as well. he website\u00a0<a style=\"color: #10376b;\" href=\"http:\/\/thisisinfamous.com\/exclusive-rawson-thurber-passes-marvels-ant-man-offer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">thisisinfamous.com<\/a>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">reported the following:<\/span> <\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"color: #000000;\"><p>Earlier today, we scooped that Rawson Thurber had been offered the job in the hopes of settling down the movie\u2019s rocky road to production and getting things back on pace to hit that July 2015 release date Marvel is still dead set on. Unfortunately, the ANT-MAN nightmare for Marvel continues, as sources tell us Thurber has indeed passed on the film, sending the studio right back to the drawing board to find someone actually willing to touch this movie with a 10-foot pole.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\"><p>\nSo Rawson Marshall Thurber already passed on ANT-MAN, the movie that no self-respecting director appears to want to adopt?<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jeff Sneider (@TheInSneider) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheInSneider\/statuses\/474001350187958273\">June 4, 2014<\/a>\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" async=\"\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>So at this point the big question is, &#8220;Will Ant-Man ever seen to catch a break?&#8221; At this point rumors and speculation have run rampant about the reasoning for the film losing its director and potential replacements.
