When word hit that actress\u00a0Gal Gadot<\/strong>\u00a0would be\u00a0playing Wonder Woman\u00a0in the\u00a0upcoming\u00a0Man of Steel\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>sequel,\u00a0Batman\/Superman<\/strong><\/em>, a line was drawn and fans chose a side. Some criticized the casting, some loved it, but the one thing everyone could agree on was that nobody saw it coming.<\/p>\n

But now thanks to an Isralie interview with\u00a0Good Evening with Gai Pines<\/a><\/em>\u00a0 (and\u00a0Batman-News<\/a>\u00a0for the translation), we finally have the actress herself commenting on the role.<\/p>\n

Where were you when you heard the news that you\u2019d been cast as Wonder Woman?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I was just on my way to shooting at LA. I landed at NY in a connection flight when my agent, Hadas Lichtenstein, called me. She says to me \u201cWonder Woman!\u201d and I\u2019m like \u201cWhat??\u201d \u2013 \u201cThe role is yours!\u2026and it\u2019s a secret and the news are not yet announced and you can\u2019t tell anyone\u2026\u201d. I\u2019m saying to her \u201cAre you serious??\u201d- and we both scream! Now it\u2019s a plane from Israel to NY and I can\u2019t make loud noise, and so I lean on a window, bending down to my legs, and just try to understand. Long story short \u2013 I was totally alone in NY, I got to a hotel at 12am, I needed to wake up in the morning for shootings. I remember laying in the darkness by myself, staring at the ceiling, and I was telling myself \u201cIt\u2019s not real!\u201d\u2026it shouldn\u2019t be like that, I\u2019m supposed to be like\u2026 \u201cwhere\u2019s the champagne?\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s been said that you\u2019re too skinny for the part. Wonder Woman is large-breasted, is that going to change?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hmm. I represent the Wonder Woman of the new world. Breasts\u2026 anyone can buy for 9,000 shekels and everything is fine. By the way, Wonder Woman is amazonian, and historically accurate amazonian women actually had only one breast. So, if I\u2019d really go \u201cby the book\u201d\u2026it\u2019d be problematic.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So you\u2019re not going to gain a little weight and start eating carbs before filming begins?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s the physical preparations that I\u2019m starting now. A very serious training regimen \u2013 Kung Fu, kickboxing, swords, jujutsu, Brazilian\u20261,000 and 1 things\u2026I\u2019ll gain body mass.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
