Think again, they&#8217;re probably false."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/theculturednerd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/johnstewart6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10952\" alt=\"johnstewart6\" src=\"http:\/\/theculturednerd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/johnstewart6.jpg\" width=\"658\" height=\"365\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Earlier today a rumor hit the web that WB\/DC was looking to have Denzel Washington take on the role of John Stewart\/Green Lantern in the upcoming Batman\/Superman film (and presumably Justice League as well). The rumor was started by <a href=\"http:\/\/nukethefridge.com\/2013\/12\/27\/exclusive-denzel-lex-hes-playing-green-lantern-superman-vs-batman\/\">Nuke The Fridge<\/a>, and spread like a wildfire.<\/p>\n<p>Being that today is Denzel Washington&#8217;s 59th Birthday, some called shenanigans right off the bat, claiming that it was none other than just a ruse to draw attention to the actor on his birthday.<\/p>\n<p>Then <a href=\"http:\/\/batman-news.com\/2013\/12\/28\/denzel-washington-green-lantern-batman-vs-superman\/\">Batman-News<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elmayimbe\/statuses\/416996527861923840\">Latino Review<\/a> chimed in<span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">, both of which saying that there was no truth to it at all whatsoever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>While its true, Denzel is a great actor. He has proven himself time and time again that he has the chops for just about any role, but Green Lantern? Probably not the best fit.
