In a recent article published by Playboy Magazine (thankfully transcribed by Latino-Review<\/a>) actor Ben Affleck once again broke silence on his upcoming role of Batman in the highly anticipated Batman\/Superman film set to hit summer on 2015.<\/p>\n

In the interview he revealed the following:<\/p>\n

\n

“I don\u2019t want to give away too much,\u00a0but the idea for the new\u00a0Batman\u00a0is to redefine him in a way that doesn\u2019t compete with the Bale and Chris Nolan Batman\u00a0but still exists within the\u00a0Batman canon.\u00a0It will be an older and wiser version, particularly as he relates to Henry Cavill\u2019s Superman character.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Once again Affleck stated that he was extremely hesitant about taking on such an iconic role:<\/p>\n

“When they asked if I would be\u00a0Batman, I told them I don\u2019t see myself in the role and I was going to have to beg off. They said I\u2019d fit well into how they were going to approach the character and asked me to look at what the writer-director, Zack Snyder, was doing. The stuff was incredible.<\/em><\/p>\n

“It was a unique take on\u00a0Batman\u00a0that was still consistent with the mythology. It made me excited. All of a sudden I had a reading of the character. When people see it, it will make more sense than it does now or even than it did to me initially.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Affleck then goes on to address the negative backlash that he saw in results to his casting, especially in comparison to his previous time playing Daredevil:<\/p>\n

“If I thought the result would be another Daredevil, I\u2019d be out there picketing myself. [laughs] Why would I make the movie if I didn\u2019t think it was going to be good and that I can be good in it?”<\/em><\/p>\n

“[Daredevil] just kills me. I love that story, that character, and the fact that it got f*cked up the way it did stays with me. Maybe that\u2019s part of the motivation to do\u00a0Batman.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
