Much to my delight I was able to reserve one at Gamestop before they sold out (and they sold out fast I&#8217;m told). To make this easy for everyone, and instead of giving you a long and drawn out essay, I will simply list the simple pros and cons of this beast and let the readers decide for themselves what purchase they will be making this holiday season (or later).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pros<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Right out of the box this behemoth comes with a 500 GB hard drive. I realize this isn&#8217;t a big deal to everyone, but understand that I had the 160 GB version of the PS3 and never thought I would fill it. 4 months later I&#8217;m scrambling to delete games and large save files so I can download a new game (it should be noted at this point that I was unaware that you could swap out the PS3 hard drive for a laptop hard drive until a couple months ago). The other reason I&#8217;m happy with the bigger hard drive is that you get several free games each month when you sign up for Playstation Plus and that adds up fast.<\/li>\n<li>The processor is ridiculously faster than its predecessor. The load times, while nowhere near instant are much noticeably faster. I&#8217;m looking forward to putting this through its paces when large RPGs start emerging for the PS4.<\/li>\n<li>As far as the list of launch titles go I&#8217;m listing this one last because it&#8217;s almost a con. I picked up Call of Duty: Ghosts and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, mostly so that I would have some games to play with my signifcant other and therefore justify my video game addiction. They&#8217;re both fun, but it&#8217;s really nothing we haven&#8217;t already seen from previous games in those series. Ghosts got a modern update&#8230;great. I will however praise LEGO Marvel for giving the player so many Marvel references it will make your head spin&#8230;and I&#8217;m about 14% of the way through.<\/li>\n<li>I really like the controller. They didn&#8217;t change so much that I&#8217;m freaking out that it&#8217;s no longer a Sony controller. I&#8217;ve yet to fully utilize the touch pad, but I&#8217;m hoping that gets used more (right now the only time I&#8217;ve used it is to bring up the map in LEGO Marvel). I did download a game called Resogun that uses the speakers on your controller to scare the crap out of you the first time you play the game and don&#8217;t expect your controller to talk to you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cons<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No YouTube app. Seriously?? While I&#8217;m sure this will be rectified before Christmas time (fingers crossed) it&#8217;s just annoying that they don&#8217;t have an app for one of the most popular websites in existence.<\/li>\n<li>Lack of titles. I realize I already mentioned this, but I would have blown so much more money had there been a decent RPG (or three) at launch.<\/li>\n<li>The majority of my friends not owning one yet. This obviously isn&#8217;t Sony&#8217;s fault, but it&#8217;s a con of mine nonetheless.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There you have it. I hope this helps in deciding what (if any) console you plan to purchase.
