They happened to score the rights to the upcoming drama <em>Gotham<\/em>,\u00a0which will showcase the city of Gotham before (spoiler warning) Bruce Wayne becomes Batman.<\/p>\n<p>The show is said to follow the rising of Jim Gordon through the ranks of the GCPD to the roll of Commissioner. We also may be seeing the origin of some of Batman&#8217;s villains, although it is unlikely we&#8217;ll be seeing the Caped Crusader himself.<\/p>\n<p>The series will be written by Bruno Heller, the mind behind <em>The Mentalist <\/em>(CBS) and <em>Rome<\/em> (HBO). So far, no casting has been announced, although you can be sure to expect a much younger Commissioner Gordon than the one portrayed by Gary Oldman in Nolan&#8217;s <em>Dark Knight <\/em>trilogy.<\/p>\n<p>I, for one, am looking forward to the enormous potential of a <em>Gotham<\/em> show.
