After the big reveal at the end of The Dark Knight Rises that Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Character John Blake’s real name was Robin and that he was given the keys to the Batcave, many speculated that the franchise would live in with this character.<\/p>\n

Obviously at this point we know that’s not going to happen.<\/p>\n

Recently while promoting his new film Don John on the\u00a0Late Show with David Letterman, <\/i>the actor was finally asked why he thinks they didn’t move forward with him leading the franchise.<\/p>\n

\n

“Well, I think these new movies aren\u2019t necessarily…I don\u2019t know first of all. I haven\u2019t read any of the new movies. I\u2019m not involved in them at all. But I don\u2019t know if they are so much a continuation of the Christopher Nolan Batman.”<\/em><\/p>\n

“I don\u2019t think they\u2019re really very connected. At least, I don\u2019t…I actually don\u2019t know,”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He then is asked what he thinks about Ben Affleck being cast as Batman any why everyone is fussing about it, to which he goes on to say:<\/p>\n

“I don’t know, I think he’s gonna be really good. The guys is a great actor!”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
